Father Rabbit online: website / facebook / twitter / instagram / pinterest

Let me introduce you to one of my long-time absolute favourite stores; Father Rabbit. A carefully curated collection of homewares that are both practical and beautiful. I love the anthropomorphic nature of Father Rabbit himself, and the simplicity and subtle style of their chosen products. Also I’m pretty sure I can never get married because they have a gift registry and that’s just dangerous.

There are two brick-and-mortar stores over in Auckland but for those of us across the Tasman Sea (and beyond) you can buy everything through their…

Merchant: john julian design

Say hello to the latest beautiful thing to drop into my inbox, all handcrafted in the sleepy village of Burcombe in the UK!

John Julian Design is designer/sculptor Julian Sainsbury, and he’s responsible for some very minimally elegant bowls, plates, mortar and pestles, and serving bowls.

His kitchen tablewares are wonderfully classic, but with an original edge — they manage to feel new and different, even in their simplicity. Not an easy task! I especially love the Britannia range of porcelain tableware, with illustrations by Laura Carlin.

You can find out more about John Julian Design over on their website, or…

Merchant: hale mercantile co.

Don’t you hate it when you buy some brand new bedding and then just a few weeks later the most magnificently gorgeous linen brand drops right in your inbox? I’m kicking myself now, but this is definitely going on the list of Things I Must Have!

Hale Mercantile Co. are a new Melbourne-based company manufacturing a stunning range of luxury European linen, covering everything from sheets and throws to towels and table cloths. I’m completely in love with the soft textures and muted colour palettes of the entire range! Their catalogue — available on their website — is beautifully put…

Sydney-based studio Blacklist is basically everything I love rolled into one —gorgeous brush typography; gold foiling; adorable slogans. Run by a very talented husband and wife team, they have a pretty spectacular design studio as well as their online store. Shop their gorgeous prints, cushions, wall flags and totes here, or check out some of their awesome art direction here!

You’ll also find them on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Tumblr.

Merchant: ondu pinhole camera

I love it when beautifully creative things just drop into my inbox, just like this Ondu pinhole camera. Designed and built by Slovenian industrial designer and carpenter Elvis Halilović, the Ondu was made possible via Kickstarter just over a year ago. Focusing on sustainability and quality, Elvis has come up with a family of six cameras that are simple, easy to use, and look amazing.

Make sure you check out the Ondu website, twitter and facebook for more info. You can also run on over to their flickr group and browse through some examples of the cameras’ gorgeous results!

Merchant: the vintage vogue

Be prepared for a dose of total awesomeness! Charlotte is the talented lady behind The Vintage Vogue, responsible for gorgeous paper sculptures, wooden trays and coasters, and hanging globes. I love the simple geometric lines in her work, definitely adding a few Vintage Vogue pieces to my wishlist.

You can find these excellent items in the online shop, and make sure you check out the Vintage Vogue Instagram too!
