I looove lace and leather (ooh, aliteration).
Both seem to be super on trend at the moment, but I adore the two of them together. A dash of girlyness with a taste of toughness.

Ermigerd you guys, latest obsession.
I do an awful lot of plane-hopping for work, and since my post on thisispaper’s bags back in November, I can’t get the thought of them out of my head. I’m pretty sure I finally need to invest in a good quality (and super sexy) backpack to take on my travels. Luggage with wheels is so 2015, amirite?

Oh my god you guys, chambrays amiright?
It’s not exactly a secret that I’m a big fan of the ol’ chambray — I could probably live in them and them alone for the rest of my life. Screw pants!
If you’re not familiar, chambray is a lightweight, denim-looking, woven fabric. The word usually refers to an item of clothing made of the stuff, such as a dress or (my favourite) a shirt. Now that the weather is warming up my love of layers is getting harder to hang on to, but I think that’s the beauty of the chambray —…
Did you guys feel that a few days ago? The temperature rose, people were mowing their lawns, kids were wearing shorts, the day had that beautiful, Summery smell to it.
Then the next day the weather said “loljk” and it rained. Such is life (at the tail end of Australia, anyway)
As much as I’m looking forward to warmer weather, I’m still pretty happy to snuggle up in my many, many layers. My latest — rather delayed — favourite trend are camel coats. Still keeps my basic colour palette happy, but adds something other than black and white to my wardrobe!
So I bought a brand new pair of Nikes this weekend, and I’m completely in love. They were supposed to be strictly for the gym, but I’m basically living in them. I’d probably be sleeping in them if I could. They’re so comfy, they dress down an outfit perfectly, and you can run and dance down the street in them if you’re feeling a bit cheeky after your third cup of coffee before 11am without worrying about blisters.
Sorry, piles of Wittner shoes sitting in my wardrobe (and strewn about the living room) — you’ve been replaced.
At least until…
There are only a few short weeks left of Winter, and even though the blossoms are starting to appear and make the world a little more colourful, the days are still pretty nippy!
I’ve basically been living in beanies for the last four months — my favourite is a big black monstrosity affectionally referred to as the “bank robber beanie” — and as much as I’m looking forward to warmer days, I will miss the snuggly cosiness of my beanies. There’s something very comforting about having your head covered (and being able to hide day-old hair is a huge bonus!)
