The wild collective

GYPSET.

Even if you’ve never heard of the term, you’re probably fairly familiar with the aesthetic. Gypset fuses the wild, carefree, bohemian style of the gypsy with the luxe sophistication of the jet setter. It’s free spirited and glamourous. Creative, laid-back and elegant. It’s fantastic.

In love with the concept yet? Realising you already have a Pinterest board dedicated to it? Awesome.

You are now ready to be introduced to and get excited by The Wild Collective. It’s a brand spanking new event, coming to Melbourne this August, that showcases local and international designers alongside activities and entertainment for the whole damn tribe. As well as offering the usual goodies (fashion, beauty products, furniture, homewares, toys, art — many eco-friendly and/or handmade) the Collective will be an experience. I especially love some of the extra little ideas that really set this event apart. The Man Cave is an area set aide especially for the boys to hang out and relax while the rest of the tribe finds their treasures. Head in to the Resting Wildlings if your little ones need to rest quietly, be fed or changed.

“Wander through the woods on a hunt for hidden treasures. While airy rhythms play and illuminated Tipi’s dot the horizon. The Wild Collective will transport you to another place as you uncover all it holds.”

You don’t just come to shop; you come to set your mind, imagination and love of earthly things free — all in the heart of Carlton. It’s a step away from the idyllic and the perfectionist; a celebration of children and the child within. An acceptance that we are all wild at heart.

Hot diggity I’m excited.

See you there!

The Wild Collective launches at the Royal Exhibition Building in Carlton, 15 – 16 August 2015.
