They sounded too good to be true. A tasty snack that’s filling, nutritious, and quick to make? What?
Believe it, sisters. Meet Fit Mix; a delicious alternative to processed snacks and high sugar bliss balls. Jam-packed full of protein, they’ll get you through the day without the hassle and heaviness of a protein shake.
They’re the brainchild of The Fit Foodie; a big believer in minimal processing and natural foods, and a definite must-follow if you’re on Instagram. Subjected to plain low-calorie food in her own attempt to get healthy, she wanted shake things up and began crafting tasty versions of her favourite treats. The popular blog that documented her journey soon followed, and it’s one of my absolute favourites. Fit Mix was born!
They also have the greatest and cheekiest branding. I’m in love.
Fit Mix comes in three varieties: Chocolate + Chia, Cookie Dough, and Vanilla + Coconut. Your mix comes packed and totally fabulous-looking, all ready for the ballin’. All you have to do is add your sweetener of choice (honey or rice malt syrup), a little coconut oil (rubbing some extra into the ends of your hair while waiting for it to melt is optional, but I highly recommend), and a few dashes of water. Mix the sh*t out of it and ball away. Volià!
I rolled a few of mine in some added extras for a bit of fun: chia seeds were a big hit, but shredded coconut was the clear winner. They’re absolutely perfect for a mid-afternoon snack or a bit of a boost before a gym session, and you don’t need much — just two of these bad boys was enough to fill me right up!
