Ally + Me: Scandinavian Style in the Heart of Hobart

If you’ve ever walked down Liverpool St in the Hobart CBD I guarantee you’ve at least lingered in the doorway of Ally + Me, a boutique store beautifully curated by Di Kelly and her daughter Ally. Wander inside and you’ll find a space with an intrinsically Scandinavian aesthetic — natural fibres, colours and textures, all of the highest quality and all ethically made. It’s hands down one of my favourite stores in Hobart!

I was lucky enough to be allowed a little peek into the store with my camera, and learn a little about the store, the style, and the…

Zülch Instagram Giveaway

Shh — do you hear that? Feel that? Smell that? It’s WINTER, BABY. At last, I can cover my white, goosebumpy legs in stockings and jeans and avoid blinding all the poor unsuspecting folk in the streets.

Winter is my favourite season. I love cosy jumpers, I love layers, I love all things warm and fuzzy — and there’s nothing more warm and fuzzy than the feeling of giving someone a gift (how’s that for a segue!)

Are you ready for the latest dose of deliciousness to fall into my inbox?

It’s no secret that I’m an enormous fan of linen, even if my SO has an annoying habit of groping every linen shirt, dress, or doona we find in stores to watch it crinkle.

Isn’t that lovely!

Ode to Sunday is a gorgeous, new independent fashion studio, creating effortless style through socially conscious methods. The pieces are made with linen woven by the oldest flax…

Threads: backpacks + rucksacks

Ermigerd you guys, latest obsession.

I do an awful lot of plane-hopping for work, and since my post on thisispaper’s bags back in November, I can’t get the thought of them out of my head. I’m pretty sure I finally need to invest in a good quality (and super sexy) backpack to take on my travels. Luggage with wheels is so 2015, amirite?

I always enjoy stumbling upon something new and great to share, and it’s even more exciting when that thing also happens to also be socially and sustainably great!

Woodfolk is a creative accessories brand by Australian jeweller and designer Julia Denes, in collaboration with artisans from Nepal. Sustainably-grown Nepalese hardwood is used, along with natural or non-toxic dyes, to create the most gorgeous jewellery, bags and scarves.

The collaboration with these small family-run businesses is fantastic; creating opportunity, self-determination, support and hope through social entrepreneurship, and it definitely makes this one inspiring label to keep your eye on!
